MASTERBATCHES
Comprising pigments and other additives, the masterbatches are products, which are already optimally dispersed in a carrier material. Masterbatches are compatible with the main plastic and are supplied in either granule or prill form. The carrier material is generally one of the low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, EVA and a more polymer specific material.

COLOR MASTERBATCHES
Pracol color masterbatches are manufactured by dispersing pigments in a suitable carrier. Pigments are insoluble substances and give the color masterbatches of choice. Pigments can be synthesised naturally or chemically for color masterbatches. Generally, the ratio of pigment or additive to the final product will be decided as part of the process of giving the required color and strength to color masterbatches. For producing color masterbatches, the ratio can be from below one percent for some types of UV, additives and color tints to more than 50% for some types of flame retardants.

BLACK MASTERBATCHES
Pracol Black Masterbatches contain highly dispersed carbon particles in resin matrix. Using a dispersing agent, the usage of high-dispersed carbon particles has been achieved to overcome the force of attraction between the carbon black particles and making the carbon particles uniformly wetted by the resin. This makes our masterbatches rheologically improved having fine jetness, excellent UV stability and overall performance in the final products.

Pracol Black Masterbatches are highly filled and free of low molecular weight waxes used to aid dispersion. The low molecular weight waxes in the black masterbatches will result in lowering of some properties like tensile strength and elongation percentage of the final product.

Only simple coloring is enough for carbon black masterbatches to achieve a 0.5% loading capactiy. The undertone exhibited by carbon black masterbatches ranges from warm brown to alcohol blue. Carbon black masterbatches with blue undertones are often favoured because of their perceived higher jetness. Tint strength is the relative ability of the carbon black masterbatches to darken a colored resin.

ADDITIVES
Additives help enhance the life span of plastic products. The additives increase the inherent strength, resilience and resistance of the products. The additives help products to withstand environmental degradation. The range of additives includes process aids, UV stabilizers, flame retardants, nucleating agents, anti-statics, anti-oxidants, etc.

As a key additive in many types of plastic resins, carbon black can impart a variety of desirable characteristics, including color, protection from UV radiation and conductivity. Carbon black has always been the most widely used black pigment because of its coloring ability, cost effectiveness and performance.
