PDI - INJECTION, INSERT AND PRECISION MOULD MAKERS FOR PLASTIC PRODUCTS
Incorporated in 1990, Prestige Dynamics Industries (PDI) is a leader in precision injection moulding and mould making. PDI is specialised in using all types of reinforced engineering plastic resins for moulding, and is an expert in insert and parting line moulding.
PDI is an ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001-2000 certified company, committed to developing employee capability to exceed customer expectation in the plastics industry. Moulds designed by PDI are used for a variety of applications in sectors including telecommunications, electronics and automotives.
DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF PLASTIC - INJECTION AND INSERT MOULDS
PDI’s in-house mould making facility designs and fabricates moulds for the manufacture of plastic parts. State-of-the-art equipment and machinery from Germany such as the Deckel Maho machine centre, and from Japan like the Makino machine centre. CNC wire cut and CNC EDM are used for mould making activities. PDI has invested in high speed milling machines to cut hardened steels directly. This reduces time and saves money.
3R datum transfer clamping systems are used to maintain accuracy of operation and cut down manufacturing lead time. This system enables non-stop machine operation. PDI’s team of designers and mould makers are determined and experienced in producing quality precision moulds to deadlines.
Moulds made in PDI meet international standards and are exported throughout Asia and in European countries including:
- • Germany
- • Switzerland
- • Netherlands
- • Portugal
- • Spain
MOULD DESIGN TOOLS - CAD AND CAM
PDI uses top-of-the-range software for mould design and manufacturing activities. Design software used includes:
- • Pro-E
- • Uni Graphics (UG)
- • I-deas
- • Plastic Part Advisor from Mould Flow.
This software is capable of reading all data exchange formats available including:
- • IGES
- • DFX
- • DWG
- • PRT
- • STL
- • MF1
- • STEP
QUALITY CONTROL AND MEASURING FACILITIES
PDI is equipped with sophisticated co-ordinate measuring machines from Carl Zeiss. This includes a probe, camera attachment and CNC non-contact measuring machine from OGP which can automatically produce statistical process control charts. In addition, various measuring tools and gauges are available for quality control.
INJECTION MOULDING MACHINES
PDI uses 64 high-end mouldng machines from Arburg, Krauss-Maffei and Nissei, ranging from 25t to 350t. Their machines can cater to various needs including:
- • Vertical injection
- • Parting line injection
- • Thin wall moulding
- • Turn table
- • Shuttle table (especially for insert moulding)
Most PDI moulding machines are equipped with robotic arms for automatic part removal, auto loaders for material feeding and temperature controllers to maintain mould temperature. Process quality personnel carry out regular checks to ensure product quality.
SECONDARY OPERATIONS
In addition to precision injection and insert moulding solutions, the company provides value-added services in the form of secondary operations such as:
- • Silk screen painting
- • Pad printing
- • Hot stamping
- • Spray painting
- • Ultrasonic welding
- • Mechanical sub-assembly
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project management is carried out according to ISO/TS 16949 quality standards, and is designed to meet all customer needs from start to product approval. PDI can also submit complete PPAP with CPK study for each new part to meet all customer specifications. Each new part /project is managed using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), according to TS 16949 requirements.
