With almost 40 years of experience to its name, the German company LORENZ Kunststofftechnik GmbH has earned an excellent reputation for its advanced products and services. SMC, BMC, DMC AND CIC: EFFICIENT PLASTIC MATERIALS

Development and production of SMC, BMC, DMC and CIC - this is the core competence of LORENZ. Compared with conventional materials the glass-fibre reinforced composites of LORENZ have outstanding mechanical, chemical, thermal and electrical characteristics within a wide range of temperatures. Formed parts from SMC, BMC, DMC and CIC feature impact, tensile and flexural strength along with excellent insulation properties, high dielectric strength, track and arc resistance. They are hardly flammable, dimensionally stable, corrosion resistant, varnishable and permeable to radio waves.

These advantages make them a high-performance, cost-saving alternative for a wide range of industries. For example, they are widely used in the electric industry, the automotive industry, the chemical industry, for sanitary and household appliances or in rail vehicle construction.

SMC - SHEET-MOULDING COMPOUND

Wherever high mechanical strength and rigidity are paramount, LOPREG-SMC prepreg on rolls is the ideal solution. Workable by hot press moulding, the multifunctional structural parts are well suited above all for large surfaces.

LORENZ has a modern laboratory with presses with capacities from 200t up to 2,000t to form high-precision parts in a wide range of shapes and sizes for trial and test purposes. Synchronisation control accounts for constant wall thickness even with highly complex or extremely thin-walled parts.

Well proven in industrial application, SMC parts are used for example as shock absorbers, cylinder head covers, engine bonnets, cable distribution boxes, window frames, interior and exterior lining, sliding valves, insulating plates, casing for industrial vacuum cleaners and many more.

BMC - BULK-MOULDING COMPOUND

Coming in gas-tight bags, LOMIX-BMC is a semi-finished product of pasty consistency workable by pressure moulding, infection moulding, transfer moulding, and compression moulding.

LORENZ has a modern laboratory with injection machines with clamping forces from 80t to 500t for a wide spectrum of parts, small parts of just 20g or heavy weights of up to 2,000g for trial and test purposes. They are used for example as reflectors, valve covers, fuse strips, insulators, or house connection boxes.

EVERYTHING FROM A SINGLE SOURCE

From the idea through to series manufacture - this is the formula of success at LORENZ. Based on long experience in plastics, LORENZ has the know-how to turn customers' ideas into high-precision tailor-made products designed to save time and money in production and enhance the quality of products.

LORENZ specialists consult customers as to the material best suited for the application. They develop a high-precision design solution even with most complex shapes and geometries. Latest CAM systems account for the precise transfer from design to prototyping and series production on state-of-the-art machines with purpose-tailored tools, developed and built in-house. Modern robots with in-house developed grippers provide the finishing touch to the products.

However, LORENZ service does not end with products. The company has found a recycling solution which is as simple as it is efficient. All products are shipped in the stackable environmentally friendly LoBox containers designed for economic transport and storage as well as for returning production waste and used parts. The materials are carefully disintegrated at the LORENZ recycling facilities to be re-used as a basis for new products.
