BOGE Rubber & Plastics continues expansion

BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group, a worldwide leading provider of vibration technology and plastics solutions to the automotive industry continues its international expansion course consistently and starts production in Mexico in 2017. “As a global player, we thus support our customers, who for the most part are already represented with own production facilities in Mexico or currently are in the process of creating further capacities. Mexico is another key building block in our growth strategy ", said Dr. Torsten Bremer, CEO of BOGE Rubber & Plastics.  

At the beginning of 2016, the subsidiary BOGE Rubber & Plastics Mexico S.A. de C.V. was founded. After extensive location analyses, now the start of construction took place in San Luis Potosí. The start of production is scheduled for mid-2017. The floor space is about 5,000 square meters. In the Mexican plant, projects of all product lines in the field of vibration technology chassis and powertrain, as well as in the field of plastic components and modules are planned to be realized.

With its location in Mexico, BOGE Rubber & Plastics is closing a gap in its production network and thus also increases its attractiveness among customers when it comes to awarding global platforms. The Group’s global presence covers including the new site in Mexico 11 sites in 8 countries on four continents.

Keyword automotive industry Mexico

The automotive industry is one of the most important industries in Mexico. The sector recently generated $ 52 billion (€ 46.6 billion), contributing three percent to gross domestic product. With an annual production of more than 3.5 million vehicles, Mexico ranks currently 7th place of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Mexico's automotive industry has grown at an average rate of 8 percent per year over the past five years. By 2020, the market research institutes expect a production of almost 5 million vehicles. Almost all large car manufacturers operate factories in Mexico.     

San Luis Potosí site  

San Luis Potosí is a city in the northern center of Mexico with over 700,000 inhabitants and the capital of the state of the same name. It was founded on 4 November 1592. Over the past decades, the city has rapidly developed into an important location for the stainless steel and automotive supplier industry in Mexico. The Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey has a campus in the city which provides the training of executives for the economy. San Luis Potosí owes its early boom to a vein of gold and silver discovered in 1592. In 2010, the old town was declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
