Novolex has acquired Wisconsin Film & Bag, a manufacturer of polyethylene bags and films, in order to expand the variety of options it can provide customers.

Wisconsin Film & Bag has about 175 employees in Shawano, where it operates a converting plant and a plastics recycling plant. The company was founded in 1972 in Oconto, but expanded and relocated to Shawano in the 1980s.

"This is important to us because it will further enhance our high-quality packaging choices for customers while advancing our position as the industry leader in sustainability," Novolex CEO Stan Bikulege said in a news release. "It's a great fit for Novolex and we will look forward to integrating the Shawano team with our successful Novolex Custom Film and Bag brand."

Novolex is a Wind Point Partners company that serves retail, grocery, food service, hospitality and industrial markets. Novolex is headquartered in Hartsville, S.C.
