Amcor announces today that the acquisition of Sonoco Products Company rigid plastics blow molding operations has been completed. This acquisition was first announced on 2 September, 2016.

The Sonoco business is a leading manufacturer of specialty rigid plastic containers, with six production facilities in the United States and one in Canada and generates annual sales of $210 million.

This acquisition represents the next step change for Amcor in terms of scale and capabilities for specialty container manufacturing. As well as providing synergies, the acquired business brings strong relationships with important new customers, strengthens our product platform and positions the business to grow faster than the overall market.
