Ascend Performance Materials, the world's largest integrated producer of polyamide 6.6 (PA66), today announced the acquisition of Britannia Techno Polymer (BTP), a Dutch-based compounder of engineering plastics. The acquisition gives Ascend a European manufacturing base and expands its global compounding capabilities.

"This acquisition gives us a sixth manufacturing base and a strong presence to serve our European customers with world-class polyamide 6.6 compounds and regional manufacturing expertise," said Phil McDivitt, Ascend's President and CEO. "Importantly, BTP shares our strong commitment to safety, quality, innovation and customer service. Together we will expand our offer and continue to maintain the high level of reliability and technical service our customers trust. "

BTP was founded in 2006 by Andrew Leigh. As a compounder of engineering thermoplastics, the company specializes in the manufacture of proprietary polyamide compounds. BTP is certified according to ISO 9001 and TS 16949, among others.

"We have a long-standing relationship with BTP and look forward to optimizing our operational efficiency and experience," adds John Saunders, Head of Ascend's European business. We warmly welcome Andy Leigh and the BTP team to Ascend. "

The workforce of BTP will be integrated quickly into Ascend. Leigh Joins Ascend's Global Management Team as Director of Compounding Technology.

"This is an exciting chapter for both companies," says Leigh. "We look forward to integrating our activities into Ascend's operations and maintaining operational world-class management."
