Braskem's Maxio seal incorporates first polyethylene resin for rotomoulding
11 December 2018
Creating innovative and sustainable solutions to meet customer needs is one of Braskem's premises, and in order to serve markets with the highest technical and quality levels, the company launches the first polyethylene grid to join the Maxio family, the HD4601U HDPE. increases productivity and saves on inputs.
With its high strength and durability, the HD4601U resin will serve customers in the construction / infrastructure and agribusiness sectors, and can be applied to cisterns, large tanks, wells and agricultural machinery parts that require high mechanical resistance.
The new resin enables the rotomolding process to occur faster compared to similar resins, resulting in lower power consumption and higher productivity.
The Maxio line is composed of resins that reduce energy consumption, increase productivity and reduce the weight of the final product, which guarantees more efficiency and, consequently, environmental gains. The benefits are obtained thanks to the continuous evolution of the resins, preserving or improving the mechanical, chemical and optical properties of finished products. This is one more example that confirms Braskem's purpose of improving people's lives through sustainable solutions of chemistry and plastic.
According to the specialist in rotomolding of Braskem's Application Engineering area, with the use of the new grid it was possible to verify the reduction of 7% to 10% of the production cycle time of each piece, the annual savings with natural gas of approximately R $ 130 thousand and with electric energy of 1,600 kWh, in addition to reducing CO2 emissions by more than 130 tons (real data applied).
"With the development of this resin in new applications, we have identified with our customers a potential gain in productivity and economy in the process, maintaining its excellent balance between rigidity and impact resistance in large volume parts and in line with the Maxio family concept", highlights Eliomar Pimenta, Application Engineer for the rotomoulding segment of Braskem.
"Braskem is bringing to the market a resin with properties already known that meet high performance demands, but from now on, also contributing to a higher productive efficiency of our customers and reduction of the environmental impact," says Fabiano Zanatta, commercial manager of of Braskem.
