A Chinese plastic mold parts supplier will create 150 jobs in Greer when it establishes a new facility with a $45 million investment, according to a release from Gov. Nikki Haley’s office.

Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Company announced Monday that it would open a 260,000 square foot plant on 1000 Robinson Rd. in Greer. The plant will manufacture parts and products for tier one suppliers in the automotive industry and is “strategically positioned to support South Carolina’s thriving automotive sector,” the release said.

“This investment in South Carolina and in Spartanburg County will further strengthen Jiangnan’s effort to expand its global leadership role in the plastic molding industry,” said Robert Cao, Jiangnan Mold Plastic Technology Corporation chairman of the board of directors and general manager in the release. “It is very clear to us that South Carolina is a pro-business state, and we look forward to continuing our cooperation with the state as we grow.”

The plant is expected to be fully operational by the second half of 2017, and hiring will begin in the same time frame.
