Kingfa to invest $60 million, add 150 jobs near Detroit

3 February 2017

Kingfa Science and Technology (USA) Inc. plans to invest $60 million and create 150 jobs with an expansion of its Canton Township, Mich., manufacturing operations, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced.

Kingfa is a subsidiary of Guangzhou, China-based Kingfa Sci. and Tech. Co. Ltd., China’s largest plastics compounder.

MEDC awarded the company a $1 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to expand in the Detroit suburb of Canton Township, which was chosen over a competing site in Ohio. The township offered a property tax abatement, the release said.

Kingfa’s products include flame-retardant compounds and alloys.
