PlastiCert Inc. recently acquired a Milacron MTs 55-ton injection molding machine to add versatility and efficiency to its production capabilities.

Owner and President Craig Porter said the Lewiston, Minn.-based molder needed to replace a couple of machines and brought in the Milacron, which is equipped with two different barrel and screw configurations.

PlastiCert is a mold maker and molder with 35 years of experience. It currently has 11 presses, ranging from 25 to 440 tons of clamping force. The company has 25 employees.

Porter said business is up about 10 percent over the last year. He said PlastiCert does work for the telecommunications, industrial, computer, sporting goods, avionics, medical and other industries.

PlastiCert‘s mold shop enables it to work with smaller and medium sized OEMs looking for help in designing and producing parts.

“Customers come to us because we have a lot of flexibility,” he noted.
