Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Hosts Opening Ceremonies for New Headquarters

3 June 2016

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics recently hosted two open houses to celebrate the opening of the business’ new headquarters in Solon, Ohio.

More than 100 employees and family members from Performance Plastics and the Shared Services group attended an employee-centered open house at the Solon offices.  “This was a great opportunity not only to show off our new workplace but it also provided a unique opportunity for employees to meet one another's families,” says Cindy Baldwin, director of human resources.

There was also a second open house, attended by approximately 80 people.  On hand were members of the local Solon Chamber of Commerce, the mayor of Solon, the landlord and contractors involved in renovating the Solon building.  The event was held in conjunction with Performance Plastics’ strategic planning meetings, so the senior executive team and the general managers of the business attended.

Tom Kinisky, president of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, welcomed the guests and thanked the landlord and the mayor in particular for their support in bringing Saint Gobain back to Solon (the company had a Crystals manufacturing plant in the town that closed in 2006).  Kinisky talked about the transformation of the Solon space for both function and design, and how the result supports his vision for creating an environment employees can be proud of.

The new Solon office is approximately 15 minutes from Performance Plastics’ previous headquarters in Aurora, Ohio.  The 54,000-square-foot facility is in a park-like setting and features a training room and fitness center.  Saint-Gobain has signed a 10-year lease for the building.
