Sidel Group has sold a second PET Combi line to Nongfu Spring, the Chinese bottled water producer. Nongfu bought the first one in 2014.

According to Sidel, Nongfu Spring had a 22 percent market share in China’s bottled water sector in 2013.

The company sells water in regular 380-ml, 550-ml and 1.5-liter PET bottles. A 4-liter family size had been available only in high density polyethylene. In the 2014 project, Sidel helped convert the big container to PET.

Nongfu Spring launched the PET 4-liter bottles in China that year, and got a positive response. The company bought a second PET Combi system for the package size.

Both machines run the 4-liter bottles at a rate of 14,000 bottles per hour.

Sidel’s U.S. operation, Sidel Inc., is in Norcross, Ga.
