Xamax and Berry sign licensing deal for fiber-reinforced technology

5 October 2016

Xamax Industries Inc. has struck an intellectual property licensing deal with Berry Plastics Group Inc. for its thermoplastic surfacing laminate products and technology.

Seymour, Conn.-based Xamax said products go under the FloLam brand and “are designed and developed as a component for various continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic material (CFRPT) systems and thermoplastic sandwich panels.”

FloLam, Xamax explained, “bonds to the surface of CFRPT/panel substrate and becomes the smooth protective outer surface, adding cosmetic appeal, hide glass print through, extended product useful life, and can be manufactured with a variety of additives.”

Berry Plastics is based in Evansville, Ind.
