Belkin International awarded Sustainability Initiative of the Year

4 September 2023

Today, the Business Intelligence Group proudly announced Belkin as a recipient of the 2023 Sustainability Awards program, specifically in the esteemed category of Sustainability Initiative of the Year. This recognition celebrates Belkin's commendable shift towards utilizing post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR) in their products. The Sustainability Awards are designed to honor individuals, teams, and organizations that have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to integrating sustainability into their business practices and overarching mission.

Over the past year, Belkin has made a conscientious and systematic choice to repurpose plastic waste from consumers, thereby contributing to the creation of new, environmentally responsible products. Belkin's dedication extends to launching new products that are developed with sustainability in mind, as well as reevaluating and improving existing high-volume product lines in their catalog. This involves the introduction of PCR plastics, the adoption of 100% plastic-free packaging, and the reduction of packaging sizes.

In its initial phase, which commenced earlier this year, Belkin has taken the proactive step of transitioning 17 of its most popular products to incorporate a minimum of 72% PCR content. Importantly, this transition is achieved without any compromise on the quality, durability, and safety of these products.

Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer at Business Intelligence Group, expressed her admiration for Belkin's sustainability efforts, stating, "We are proud to reward and recognize Belkin for their sustainability efforts. It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world. Congratulations!"

Belkin's commitment to sustainability not only demonstrates responsible corporate citizenship but also contributes positively to the global environmental goals for a more sustainable and eco-conscious future.
