Centrex Plastics, which makes containers, will be adding 30 to 100 workers by February, along with a planned 60,000-square-foot warehouse addition at 920 W. Lima St., owner Terry Reinhart said Thursday.

Centrex, at 814 W. Lima St., currently employs 153 in Findlay. The employees to be added will include supervisors, engineers, production and office workers, Reinhart said.

They will work in the existing Centrex building. Space will be opened for them with the addition of the warehouse down the street, Reinhart said.

The warehouse will accommodate Centrex growth and “some future projects we’re working on,” Reinhart said.

“We’re working on some future projects I can’t disclose.”

Centrex makes storage products for sale at Lowe’s Home Improvement, Menards and Costco.

A site plan for the warehouse was approved Thursday by Findlay City Planning Commission.

Separately, the commission approved plans to convert the first and second floor of 316 Dorney Plaza, just south of the Hancock County Courthouse and east of the Findlay Municipal Building, to three two-story townhouses. The plans were filed by Findlay businessmen James Heck and Michael Gardner.

The townhouses will likely be completed by March, said Jerry Murray, president of RCM Architects.

Separately, the commission approved a site plan to add a greenhouse and garage/office/work area, totaling 2,448 square feet, to Sink’s Flower Shop & Greenhouse at 2700 N. Main St. Sink’s existing building totals about 1,900 square feet.

Sink’s also obtained a required variance from the city Zoning Appeals Board on Thursday because the back of the new building will be a few feet less than the required 30 feet away from the nearest property line.

Sink’s Flower Shop owner Chuck Clapper said he does not know when the addition will be built. The business plans to add at least one employee with the addition, he said.
