Origin Materials, Inc., a world-renowned leader in carbon-negative materials, dedicated to facilitating the global shift towards sustainable materials, has joined forces with Proman, a prominent global player in products derived from natural gas and a major methanol producer. This strategic collaboration is centered on the production of low-carbon biofuels, leveraging Origin's cutting-edge technology platform and Proman's extensive expertise in fuels and global capabilities.

In a significant move, Proman and Origin Materials have formalized an agreement aimed at exploring the production and widespread distribution of low-carbon biofuels.

Rich Riley, Co-CEO of Origin Materials, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to embark on this collaborative journey with Proman, a frontrunner in natural gas-derived products, equipped with a vast global shipping and supply chain network. This collaboration marks a significant stride forward in the commercialization of low-carbon biofuels. The biofuel sector is experiencing rapid growth, and wood waste-derived, low-carbon-intensity biofuels stand as the future of the industry's decarbonization efforts. Our unique technology platform positions us optimally to deliver these renewable fuels, utilizing our 'oils and extractives' intermediate stream. Partnering with Proman, a company well-versed in engineering, procurement, and construction related to large-scale sustainable technology development, is an exciting prospect. In the long term, we envision the potential utilization of biomass-derived, low-carbon-intensity fuels in marine and other transportation fuels, industrial applications, heat and power generation, and beyond."

Origin Materials plans to create bio-based fuels using their patented technology platform, which efficiently transforms carbon present in sustainable wood residues into valuable products.

David Cassidy, Chief Executive of Proman, warmly embraced this partnership, highlighting the pivotal role that certified lower-carbon fuels and feedstocks play in driving the transition towards a more sustainable world. He emphasized how these biofuels hold immense potential across various domains, from manufacturing materials and packaging to fueling global supply chains and transportation. Cassidy conveyed the shared commitment to innovation between Proman and Origin Materials, indicating that this collaboration will explore novel avenues to create the foundational components for reducing environmental impact in our daily lives.
