Riyadh Plastic Factory Company invests in BOBST 20SIX CI flexo press

1 February 2018

Riyadh Plastic Factory Company (RPF), an associated company of Harwal Group, has selected Bobst 20SIX CI flexo press to extend its flexible packaging production capacity.

The new press will be identical to the first Bobst flexo press which was commissioned by Harwal Group member Interplast in 2014 in the UAE.

Harwal Group packaging materials division executive director Mike Koroukian said: “Ever since the first BOBST 20SIX was installed, it has performed to our full satisfaction, both in terms of print quality and productivity.

“When we decided to invest in a new machine to boost our capacities, the decision in favor of BOBST was an easy one.”

RPF plans to use the press for printing films (LDPE, BOPP, CPP, PET), foil, laminates, shrink sleeves, PVC twist wraps, metalized twist wraps and wax paper, wrap around labels, gift wraps, shopping bags and flower wraps.

The firm serves a range of industries including the packaged foods, juices, dairy, ice creams, dry foods, soft drinks, toffees, cosmetics and toiletries industries.

Featuring ten colors and print width of 1450mm, the press has a printing speed up to 500 m/min and maximum repeat of 1200mm.

The press also is integrated with the smartGPS off-press set-up system designed to reduce the job change overtime and waste during set-up to almost zero. It also serves as a quality control instrument for printing hardware and plate mounting.

Harwal Group comprises more than 40 business units which serve a diversified range of industries including building materials, industrial materials, consumer goods, furniture, refrigerators and packaging solutions.
