LG Chem to Showcase Engineering Materials for Future Industries at Fakuma 2026
8 October 2026
LG Chem announced today that it will participate in Fakuma 2026, a leading plastics trade fair taking place from October 12 to 16 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. At the event, LG Chem will showcase its competitiveness in high-performance materials and next-generation material solutions for future industries in the European market.
Fakuma is one of the world’s leading plastics processing trade shows, drawing top global material suppliers and major European manufacturers. At this year’s exhibition, LG Chem will focus on showcasing high-performance material technologies designed for emerging growth sectors — such as AI infrastructure, robotics and breathable films applications — alongside its core offerings for the automotive, electrical and electronics industries.
Spanning a 70-square-meter exhibition booth, LG Chem will emphasize “solution marketing,” moving beyond traditional product displays to address critical operational challenges across client industries.
The exhibition will be organized around three themes:
- Cost Effectiveness: Featuring paint-free automotive materials and metal-replacement solutions.
- Sustainability: Presenting bio-based materials and low-carbon solutions.
- Innovativeness: Introducing next-generation engineering plastics for AI infrastructure, and robotics applications.
LG Chem will focus on technical collaboration and the exploration of new business opportunities over standard product showcases. More than half of the booth footprint is dedicated to meeting areas where technical experts will provide tailored consultations to clients.
Additionally, LG Chem will highlight its Simulation Integrated Solutions (SISO), a proprietary computer-aided engineering (CAE) platform, to support customer R&D. SISO enables product performance to be predicted and validated early in the design stage, significantly streamlining development cycles.
“At LG Chem, we do not simply react to market demands. We collaborate closely with our partners to anticipate emerging opportunities, proactively engineering advanced material solutions that drive next-generation industries,” said Lee Chang-hyun, Senior Vice President and Head of the Engineering Plastics Business Unit at LG Chem.
“We will lead the transformation of future industries by proactively delivering next-generation material solutions that create new growth opportunities and differentiated value for our customers.”
In Europe, demand for lightweight and high-performance materials is rising rapidly amid accelerating vehicle electrification and stringent environmental regulations. Engineering plastics — capable of substituting for metal to reduce product weight and improve energy efficiency — are expanding across high-tech sectors, including automotive, robotics and AI infrastructure.
Capitalizing on its technical capabilities, LG Chem aims to strengthen its presence in the European market by proactively developing advanced, forward-looking solutions that address emerging industry needs.
