Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Yasuhiko Saitoh) has developed a new and improved silicone Lotion.

In the latest list of EU REACH regulations*, it is recommended that certain measures be taken to reduce the concentration of specific siloxanes contained in certain silicone product applications to below 0.1%. The specific type of siloxane involved does not cause any problems related to human health and the environment. Nevertheless, in order to meet customer needs and take into account the development trend of REACH regulations, Shin-Etsu has developed new silicone emulsion products.

The new silicone emulsion developed with advanced purification technology can reduce the concentration of specific siloxane to comply with the trend of REACH regulations. At the same time, compared with existing products, the stability of our silicone emulsion has also been improved.

Silicone emulsion is a product in which an emulsifier (surfactant) is added to materials such as silicone oil and silicone resin and dispersed in water, so that silicone and water are easily mixed with other materials. Because of its excellent properties and ease of use, silicone has a wide range of applications, such as mold release agents, lubricants and gloss enhancers.
