Introduction:
Brightmark LLC, a circular solutions company committed to Reimagine Waste®, plans to establish a 2.5 million-square-foot circularity center in Thomaston, Georgia. This facility will have the capability to repurpose over 400,000 tons of plastic annually.
Features:
This new facility will offer a unique waste management solution in the Southeast region, enabling the processing of mixed plastic waste streams into fully circular products. This capability has not been available in the area before.
Brightmark is making a significant investment of $950 million in Georgia, which underscores the company's commitment to economic growth in the Peach State. This project is expected to create nearly 200 advanced manufacturing jobs, enhance regional infrastructure, and foster economic development in rural West Central Georgia.
Brightmark is also committed to environmental stewardship in Thomaston and Upson County, focusing on protecting local water, air, and land. The company plans to invest over $1 million in Zero Liquid Discharge technology, ensuring that all process wastewater is managed and processed on-site. This measure will prevent any contact with municipal water supplies, including drinking water, groundwater, the Flint River, and other local waterways. The facility will be classified as a synthetic minor emitter, utilizing the best available technologies to minimize emissions.
