Introduction

Gould Industries Ltd., a Montreal-based manufacturer of recycled plastic products, has acquired a manufacturing plant in Summit, Mississippi. The acquisition marks the company’s first industrial operation in the United States.

Features

The facility covers more than 100,000 square feet and is located on six acres of land. It includes a CN railway siding with capacity for up to 30 railcars. The plant has the potential to produce up to 80 million pounds of products and recycle 10 million pounds of plastic annually.

Gould Industries said its Montreal plant has reached full production capacity. The new Mississippi facility will help increase production and support major customers operating across North America, including Costco and Home Depot.

The company, which specialises in private-label plastic products, plans to expand its presence in the US retail market through the new facility.

The acquisition will support approximately 150 jobs across the company’s operations in Mississippi and Montreal. It also provides a platform for future investment and production growth.
