Poly-America, one of the largest polyethylene film manufacturers in the U.S., is establishing a 475,000 square foot production center with Carolina Poly, Inc. in Chester, South Carolina with an investment of $100 million.
Poly-America and its affiliated entities produce several product lines, including trash bags, plastic sheeting, silage bags andshrink film. This manufacturing facility will create 300 new jobs in Chester County.
Carolina Poly, Inc. will operate a 475,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 198 acres at 1580 Lancaster Highway in Chester, S.C. It is anticipated that the facility will be operational by mid-2017, and hiring is expected to begin in late 2016.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $1.8 million Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to assist with the costs of real property improvements, as well as job development credits related to the project.
