RCS Group is investing €75 million in a new plastics recycling facility in Werne, Germany, to expand its recycling operations and support the development of closed-loop material cycles. The new site will process HDPE, PS and PET materials into high-quality recycled plastics for various applications, including food packaging.

Features:

The new facility will be built on a 6.5-hectare site on Capeller Straße in Werne.

The investment of €75 million will establish an independent site for RCS Plastics GmbH.

The facility will have a planned recycling capacity of approximately 100,000 tonnes of plastic materials per year.

It will process HDPE cap closures, PS, PET trays and beverage bottles into high-quality recyclates.

A key focus will be producing food-grade recycled HDPE from plastic caps.

The project is expected to create around 60 new jobs, including approximately five apprenticeships.

The new facility is scheduled for completion between late 2027 and early 2028.
