Introduction:
Circular Plas Company Limited and Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) have entered into a joint development agreement (JDA) for capacity expansion and to innovative design of equipment and engineering process relating to turning mixed post-consumer plastics into recycled feedstock for petrochemical businesses.
Features:
The expansion of demonstration plant capacities and the shift towards commercialization highlight the project's success and potential. The demonstration plant in Rayong province, Thailand, stands as a pioneering facility that has effectively converted post-consumer plastics into pyrolysis products, a valuable raw material for petrochemical plants, thus closing the loop in the plastic lifecycle. This accomplishment is both a technical triumph and a significant milestone in sustainability, validated by ISCC certification.
TOYO's expertise in reactor design has been crucial in adapting the technology to manage the variability of post-consumer plastics. Their efforts to enhance continuous operation and increase capacity utilization demonstrate the technical expertise and forward-thinking approach of both TOYO and Circular Plas.
Currently, a new reactor, jointly developed and designed by TOYO and Circular Plas, is being prepared for installation at the demonstration plant. Circular Plas and TOYO plan to demonstrate this reactor system in early 2025, paving the way for scaling up the plant and reaching commercialization targets.
